Fifth Hammer Brewing Company

Longtime New York homebrewing leader Chris Cuzme and partner David Scharfstein opened Fifth Hammer Brewing in Long Island City in 2017. Its 15-barrel brewhouse turns out a wide range of styles, from IPAs and saisons to sours and stouts.

The cavernous warehouse taproom features a long bar, barrel tables, and tap handles shaped like hammers. It is open seven days a week, welcomes dogs, and often hosts food trucks. It sits a block and a half from Rockaway Brewing, which makes for an easy LIC beer crawl.
